Terms and Conditions
All orders received and final sales made by Gaynor’s Cakes are subject to the following terms and conditions:-
The price for your order shall be as stated on your order details confirmation documentation, provided to you on placement of order. You agree to pay the full price to Gaynor’s Cakes in accordance with that agreed.
Payment can be made by either Paypal, Cash or Bank Transfer.
All orders require a 50% non-refundable deposit, as agreed upon when ordering. All deposits become due immediately the order has been placed and details checked and agreed by you. All orders are deemed to have been accepted only when the deposit has been paid.
Payments and cancellations
Final payments for all orders must be made either in advance of the delivery/collection date or, at the latest, cash on delivery. In the case of wedding cake orders, the final balance is payable 4 weeks before the event date. Cancellation of the order after this time is refundable purely at the discretion of Gaynor’s Cakes and its proprietor. Cancellation within 14 days of the event date is non-refundable. Please note that we do not accept cheque payments as a final balance payment, with the exception of wedding cakes.
Amendments to orders
Your cake is very important to us. Please take the time to check your order details carefully and let us know immediately if changes are required, or details are not as discussed when placing your order. Natalie's cakes and Toppers reserves the right to increase a quoted fee in the event that the customer adds to and/or changes the original order significantly.
Publication and promotional rights
On placing your order with Gaynor’s Cakes, you agree that we are the sole designer and owner of the final cake design. All rights in any original designs created by us shall remain the exclusive property of the company. Our designs may be published on our website or in relevant media (e.g. wedding magazines, social media, etc.). We reserve the right to use any image of a customer's cake made by Gaynor’s Cakes for publication, after the delivery date, unless previously requested and agreed between the customer and Gaynor’s Cakes.
Delivery / set up
Should you require your cake to be delivered and set up at your venue or home, this should be by prior arrangement with Gaynor’s Cakes. All wedding cake orders are inclusive of this service. However, all other cake orders MAY incur a further charge for this service and MUST be by prior arrangement. In the case of set up by Gaynor’s Cakes, and to ensure that your cake is displayed at its best, it is your responsibility to ensure that you have provided Gaynor’s Cakes with set up details and arrangements made with the venue for the location and display of your cake. We cannot be held responsible for the location of the cake at your venue. Please ensure that the display location is level, stable and strong enough to hold the cake. Tiered and large cakes can be extremely heavy. Please do remember that a cake (particularly chocolate and buttercream designs) can melt in warm conditions such as a marquee, an un-airconditioned room in the summer and if placed in direct sunlight. We will take every care to ensure that your cake is in the best possible location but please note that, once your cake has been delivered and set up, we will not accept any liability for any interference with or damage to the cake thereafter, including variance in air temperatures. In the case of delivery to a venue, a signature will be required by either the customer (or representative of the customer) or venue management, confirming that the cake has been received in good condition. Photos are taken in-situ of all our cakes, as proof of safe delivery.
If a cake is required to be collected from Gaynor’s Cakes, this must be by prior arrangement, at a time convenient to both parties and usually between the hours of 9am to 7pm, unless by prior consent. On collection of the cake, it is your responsibility to check your cake to ensure it is in perfect condition and as specified. It is then no longer the responsibility of Gaynor’s Cakes for the safe transportation of the cake, and we can accept no liability for damage caused during transit.
At Gaynor’s Cakes every effort is made to ensure that every component of your cake is edible. However, in some circumstances, it is necessary to use non-edible materials either in the decoration of your chosen cake or in its structure. In the case of tiered cakes, it is often necessary to use dowels and supports within the cake to support the weight. Sculpted figures, etc., may also require the use of non-edible supports. In the case of any such materials being used in your cake, this will be detailed in documentation provided with your cake. It is therefore important that any such materials are removed from your cake before cutting and serving.
Please be aware that, whilst your chosen cake may not be made with any nuts, or a nut product, it will be prepared in a kitchen where nut products may be used in other cakes. In the case of special dietary requirements (e.g. wheat, gluten, dairy free, etc.), a full list of ingredients will be provided with your cake order. This, however, may be provided for any cake, by prior request. It is your responsibility to ensure that all recipients of your cake are aware of any allergen information.
We will make every possible effort to match icing colours and/or ribbon to colour swatches provided to us for representation on your chosen cake. However, this is not always possible, particularly with icing, due to the nature of the ingredients used, and it must be borne in mind that icing/buttercream colours can alter slightly on standing, and in different environments and temperatures. We will, however, make every effort to achieve as accurate a representation as possible

Should there be any problem relating to delivery, the customer will be informed by email or by phone.
Should an order be cancelled before despatch a full refund will be made.
Should an order be cancelled after despatch a full refund will be made less the cost of postage and packing. The refund will be made after the safe return of the item only.
In addition, it will be the responsibility of the customer to return the item in its original condition, i.e. that in which it was despatched.
Returns must be made within 10 days of receiving the item and after prior consultation with me either by telephone or by email.
